FSGB is one of the most highly regarded child welfare, home health care, and elder care agencies in the Greater Boston area. FSGB services are licensed and approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services. The agency is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Families.

Our many strengths and assets include:
1. FSGB has a history of, expertise in, and commitment to, offering services for individuals across the life span, from infancy to old age. 2. FSGB is a primary provider of intensive family intervention and child protective services for troubled families under the care of the Massachusetts Department of Social Services (DSS). FSGB offers intensive, culturally sensitive home-based therapeutic interventions to prevent child abuse and neglect, and avoid placement of children in foster care, psychiatric hospitals, or residential programs, and to stabilize families when children return home from out-of-home placement.
3. FSGB maintains a fully licensed, community-based substance abuse and mental health clinic, offering individual, couples, children's and family therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and treatment services. FSGB's Center for Counseling offers specialized trauma evaluations and treatment planning for children and families, as well as consultation to Children's Advocacy Centers (which coordinate services for children and families who have experienced abuse) in both Suffolk and Norfolk Counties.
4. FSGB has built strong collaborative partnerships with Boston Public Schools, community centers, and neighborhood clinics, enabling us to offer clinical mental health services where they are most needed, and ensuring their accessibility to the most hard-to-serve and hard-to-reach clients.
5. FSGB maintains a licensed, certified Center for Home Health Care, including a unique Maternal/ Child Health Program, to bring comprehensive, culturally competent homemaking personal care, home health aide, nursing care, and support to isolated, high-risk community residents who need in-home assistance to stay healthy, independent, and active in the community.
6. FSGB offers transitional housing, with comprehensive support and educational services, for single teenage mothers and children receiving transitional assistance benefits.
7. For over 30 years, FSGB has been a major resource for the human services community, offering training, not only for our own staff, but to other community-based providers, in clinical competencies and innovative practices.

FSGB has maintained a commitment to the most highly skilled, effective, and flexible care, ensured by maintaining a staff with professional training and credentials, including licensed independent master's degree clinicians and social workers, and registered nurses and nurse practitioners with advanced practice training.
